week8 - how did my jazz ensemble go?

today we had our assessment, i think i did well because i got a 9/10. i think as a group we got a score of 8.5, 8.5, 8.5 and 8.5 from all 4 teachers. i think we all agreed tanja did the best among the 4 of us. she had the biggest improvement and i think she was good.

for the instrument class, sadly we didnt have any because it was too late. the assesment went on for abit too long. i think we did well and i believe we had enough practice.

week 8 vid practice 1 and 2

in the first video i think i did well because just this afternoon, i did my performance assessment. i think i did good and i deserved a 9/10. i think that i could have been a bit more fluent in the first few parts but overall i did good.

in the second video, i think i did way better compared to the first vid. i finally improved the first part and i believe that i got the timing and the string right. sadly i made a small tiny mistake in the last part. other than that, i did good.

week 7- what do i think about my jinggle?

for my jinggle, i think it is unique and it is sort of playful with the different types of instrument included in the jinggle. the jinggle is very harmonious and not only that but it is also fitting with the slide i made. it passed the criteria for the slide show

today, yovanka, karin and i were practicing our song which is fly me to the mood. we did a good job and i was pretty pleased with the outcome. i believe we can score a good score.

week 7 practice 1 and 2

in this video, i was quiet rusty because i havent been practicing. i think i should practice more because i know i can do better. i should be able to get a good score if i played really well. i want to get a good score so i will be better in the next video.

in this video, i did quite good but not as good ad the last week video. maybe it is because i have been under pressure for the upcoming test and i havent been practicing as much as i wanted to. i should commit and practice more.

week 6- how is my progress in jazz ensemble?

i think my progress is clear and it is obvious that i have been practicing. i believe that i did well and i tried my best during the rehearsal. i have to admit that the rehearsal didn't go that well but i think i could have done better and i believe that i should practice more to get a higher score in the future.

during instrument class or practice class, i think yovanka, karin and i were playing very well and very harmoniously i think we did very well and we are ready for the general rehearsal. i should practice more at home

week 5 and 6 practice

in this video, i did really badly because of the lack of practice i had. i think i could have done better if only i did more practice over the period of time and i think i could have gotten a more accurate result if i practiced more. i promise to practice more in the future.



i believed i have improved from the first video and i believe that the notes i am playing now is more accurate and it is faster. i got more notes right and it sounds way better. i think i did well in this video i will practice more to get a smoother result.



in this video, i did better then the 2 videos before this. i got the notes more accurate than the 2 videos before and i think i got the timing right. i will practice more in order to get the best result.



in this video i didn't do as well as the video before because i stopped playing for several days and i lost touch of the song. i started of wrong and i think i misread some of the notes. i think i should have a constant practice in order to get a good result during the assessment.

How did my singing assessment go?-week 5

i think my singing assessment went well and i did my best to sing. i should have sang bait further away from the mic like what Mr. Sadrahk suggested so that i don't over power yoshiko and olivia. i think overall we did very very very well because our group got a 9/10 from Mr. Herry and Mr. John and we were really really really happy when we got 9.5/10.

for instrument class, we had some rest and we were talking about the peak and the pit of our singing presentation. i think we had some fun but we still practiced autumn leaves once. we had little time left so we decided to rest and play one song.

week 4: How does business and industry affects music makers and users?

business and industry can affect the music makers and users. in this workd we live in is filled with revolution and conforming. people now adays  change their taste in music frequently. music has been in our lives longer than we know it. music makers will produce music that fits users and meet the demands of the users. so music changes every so often.

during instrument class, yoshiko and i begged Mr. Sadrahk to help us for the pembagian suara area and help us work on the melody. i think we did well during practice but we have to step out of our comfort zone. we have to be brave during the performance.

In this viedo, I did not so good compare to last time but I still tried my best. I had several people in the room that is why there was background noise but I was fully concentrated on my work and I think I could have done better with a little more practice.

In this video,I did better compared to the one before and the reason for this is that I had enough practice. I think I did well and I think I can improve if I keep practicing.

week 3- how have development in technology changed the ways in which we engage with music

technology has a great impact on how we engage on music. Now a days we have iPhones, iPads, iPod touch and etc. this also come in a package with games involving music like, guitar hero, tap tap and many more. not to mention youtube. youtube revolutionized the music industry with its contents and high speed videos.

today i practiced autumn leaves with my fellow violin club friends (yoshiko and olivia). Mr. Sadrahk advised that we do a little improvisation here and there to get a little extra marks.



in this video, i have started practicing again after a week of break. i have started off with the right notes, tune and timing. i think in this one i didn't do as well as i did before but i think in the next video i did well and i got used to the rhythm again.



in this video, i did a little more practice after the first video of the week and i am happy to say that i think i got the hang of it again and i did well for the second video. i believe if i keep practicing, i can make it and i can score a very high score this time.

week 1 and 2 practice vid 1 and 2

i think in this one i am just beginning to learn how to play the song so there were some stopping and some mistakes on the notes i should play. but i think if i keep improving, i will be able to do better.



in this one, i am becoming more fluent while playing the song. i think after several days of practice, i did a very good job. i think i was able to perform really well in spite of the short period of time i have been practicing this song.



in this 3rd video i have been having a lot of practice for this song and i think i did really well in this one. i think i am on a right track and i believe that i can get a better score compared to last time.



in this last video, i had 1 mistake for the whole song. this mistake was a big one and i felt abit down but never the less i kept on playing and i gave it my hardest. i think i have improved alot.

16 & 18 What are the functions of music in society?

music as we have mentioned is a universal language understood by anyone around the world. music can help calm people down, help raise awareness regarding a certain topic and it can be something people do as a living.

today we again, discussed the songs we wanted to play and we as a violin class performed together. we did well and Mr. Sadrahk gave us several pointers on how to play it better.

april 9 - 13 --> what is the role of music in your life?

music is very important to me because without music, i will be bored and i will be very disoriented. music is very important for me to kill time. i have an average of 6-8 hrs of music listening time. i believe that music helps me do my homework and music always keep me in a happy mood.

today we discussed about what song we are going to play. i got several tips from Mr. Sadrahk on how i should play it. i think i will practice at home.

last 2 video practices

in this video i was playing the scales and i think in the scales i did well in the first part but the second part i didn't do so well i have to play more scales in the future to improve my fingering.



in this video i tried playing the song i played just now and i was really proud because i can remember the whole song. the only thing I'm not happy about is that i have several double strings.

week 10- how is my understanding of blues after my performance

i now understand blues even deeper after my performance. blues doesn't always stick to the notes or the melody. they improvise little by little. blues is very fast. they love to play fast beat songs and half notes.

today we all evaluated each other and we all stated what we loved and disliked. we took a rest and just talked about how we could have done better.



i think in this video i was able to do good and i was able to avoid all double strings. i did very well for this song. i haven't played this song for sometime but i was still able to do well.

week 9- how is my understanding of improvisation especially in blues

in blues, they have lots of improvisations. i now understand that blues doesn't necessarily follow the written notes. they still follow it but they improvise even more.

in music class today we practice our own compositions and we got final pointers or tips from mr. Sadrahk.



i think i did pretty well here and i am confident with myself. i did really well only on the second 4th bar i got several double strings, i still have to improve that.



in this video i did better than the one before and i think i did well for this one. i still couldn't remember my last 3rd forth bar i have to try and remember it.

week 8- how does blues influence jazz in it's early development

i think blues influenced jazz by it's melody and it's tone. blues evolved into many other types of jazz genres.

today i played my composition and i think i played well. i believe i have enough preparation for the test. none the less i will practice more because practice makes perfect.


in this video i am practicing my song and i think i did better. i think i avoided all double strings and i think i was able to play the notes on time and i think i played it better this time.

in this video i think i did well on my second practice on the song. i think in this one i did as well as i did before and i was still able to avoid all double strings.

in this video i was playing my song and i think i did way better than before. but the problem is that i had to flip the page of my song book. this took awhile so there was a pause moment in the video i will try and make the flip quicker next time.

i think in this practice i was doing not so good with the stroking and the tone is abit off. i was trying my best to do better from my previous practices. this shows i have to practice more. i think i need to work more on the double strings.

week 7- how is my progress playing my own 12 bar blues

My challenges and how often i practice

I think my progress in playing my own 12 bar blues is good and mostly my challenge is getting the time to practice with my tight schedule i have limited time to practice. Even though i have difficulty finding time, i still do my best and i get some time 5 minutes or maybe 10 minutes i will practice at home.

this week Mr. Sadrahk has been helping me out with my practice on the song and he has been telling me about the placement of the fingers if it is in different scales and he has been coaching me regarding the timing of my song.

in this song i was practicing my 12 bar blues. i think i didn't do as good here as i did in instrument class but i think mr. Sadrahk"s encouragement motivated me to do better.

in this video i was playing fly me to the moon. i think during this practice video i didn't do very good because its been sometime i played this song. nevertheless i think i could have done better.

in this video i was doing scales and i think i did well and i think i was able to avoid double strings when i am playing this.

in this video i was doing double double scales. i think while doing the double double, i didn't do as well because it is definitely harder to avoid double strings while doing double double.

in this video i was playing a song from the book. i have been playing this song for a long time. i haven't practiced this song for sometime that is why i wasn't that good in this video.

in this video i was again doing a a song from the book. the only difference from the version in the book is that this is double double.

in this video i am practicing the fly me to the moon song and i think i didn't do as well as i could have. in this video i was doing double strings and this is bad i am trying to get the stroking better.

in this video i think i didn't do that well because i am stopping a lot and i thing that i am doing double strings. but nevertheless this was still my first practice.

how does my understandingh of jazz develop

this week i did well and i believe that i was satisfied with my performance. on monday i was happy because i played with a group of people who played different types of instruments. i felt like in a real orchestra. i am really happy to be able to do that.

i think i did well today today we had a rest and we were really tired after our daily activity so we just did some scales.

how is my proggress in leanring jazz

i think i am learning more and more about jazz. i believe that u know the good jazz players, people who are successful in terms of being a concert player (benny goodman and kenny g). i think it is easier for me to write the essay with the newly aquired knowledge i have about jazz.

today i performed my song and i think i did well i still have to prectice much more to get greater results.

how do i learn jazz

i think i learned jazz quite well with the assessment task mr herry gave to us. i think we understood jazz better this way thanks to his assessment.

today i had fingering exercises. i think i can perform beter with these fingering exercises.

is music a language?

i think music is definately a language due to the reason that every country have different language but music can be undeerstood by all. therefore i think music is a UNIVERSAL language.

I studies my song which is number 18. i believe i did well but i can still improve on my fingering.
